Make Me Like You

This poem was written a couple of weeks ago. It is the result of my feeling broken, like I am not fulfilling my purpose for the Lord. I am thankful for feeling this way, so I can deeply crave my need for Him and His will:) Here’s my prayer that day…

“Make Me Like You”

My heart in hand, Teacher help me make it more like Yours

To think thoughts like You do, to love others first, and me last

Break me, then mold me, make me not my own

Do what I cannot, from the inside out, make me new

I am just a vessel full of stuff, unclean, unused

Unable to empty myself of sin, though I try to

Won’t you make me useful and full of You?

And able and willing to pour out and fill others

With Your joy and mercy, make me teeter out

As an offering to You in serving You, Master

I am waiting to be needed, but need is already there

Everywhere. Everyone needs to know You, know You more

I am ready now. Make me like You, even if it hurts

I will pour out what You pour into me

All for Your glory that You so deserve

All the days of my life that You give me

I hope and pray that you have a really lovely day in the Lord:)
