Peace is Mine

I was reading my Bible recently when the idea of Jesus’ peace took hold of my mind. It is so wonderfully incomprehensible how invisible peace, from an invisible God and Savior can visibly meet our needs for peace during trials!

Have you known someone, who, even while in a terrible trial, praised the Lord? I have! Their faith amazes me! That’s visible peace!

What a witness to me that peace CAN be found in Jesus, no matter what. We may not face the same trials as each other, but we can turn our faces to the same Lord and Savior and He will meet whatever needs we have, for peace.

Jesus’ peace is a “One size fits all” peace! I say that because He is more than enough for anything any of us face. God’s Word says so…so it’s true! Period. End stop.

Jesus said “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NIV

Because He has over come the world, overcome death, we know that He really CAN do anything. Right now, the world is in quite a state…pun not intended… but we do not have to be in a fearful state, personally.

God’s got this. Things may not be as we want and we may not feel our world is headed in a good direction, but…Jesus has left us His peace.

Though He has left us on earth , He has not LEFT us. The Holy Spirit is with us. Isn’t it so precious that the Holy Spirit lives in us to provide any and all guidance that we need?

Jesus cares that much. God cares that much. The Holy Spirit cares that much for us. (If I knew how to make a heart imoge here, I would do it!)

I can almost hear Jesus’ love in this next verse. Can you?

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27 NIV

That sounds like a great plan! Friends, I hope you have a great Monday, NOT being afraid, but peaceful. I will pray for that for you and myself, too. Remember…

God’s got us, all of our moments, our minutes. He also has our days, weeks, months and years in His hand. All we have to do is hold His.

Lord, Thank You so much for all the ways you encourage us to lean on You and not be afraid. Your peace is such a precious gift to us! We do not deserve and could never afford something so priceless. Though we may not understand how You can attend to all of us and our different issues or fears, we know You can. We love You and we will be witnesses of Your peace. Amen.

With love from the Father to you, have a great day,

Tina

I Choose You

Happy Saturday! Here is today’s devotion!
March 6, 2021 gloryinthemorning.com

I can’t help but think of how much we owe to the Holy Spirit and His guidance, so today’s devotion is to encourage us all to stop and think on how great He is! He’s a best friend:) He sets our minds on heavenly things when the world vies for our attention.
He cheers us on when we are on the right track and makes us know when we are on the wrong track. He tells us all we need to know or need to hear again. He fills us with all we need. He is totally satisfying!

I choose You, Holy Spirit, forever:)

I Choose You

Freely flowing love is glowing.
Fill Me Lord with Holy Fire.
Make your home a light in me.
Help me do what you desire.

The world can’t fill me though it’s tried.
Dark can’t light a needy soul.
I choose you and you alone ,
For only You can make me whole.

I love you Spirit, Father, Son.
The world has nothing good to give.
I’ll give you glory all my days.
As in your light I’ll daily live.

Love and prayers to all! Have a beautiful day:)

Just me. Just His.

Cramped Housing

November 13, 2020

One of the things that is not on anyone’s priority list when house shopping, is cramped housing. We like to have space to live comfortably and not having to compete with others in the household for space. This thought parallels the housing of the Holy Spirit in a very simple way.

When we confess our sins and ask Jesus to be Lord of our life, He takes us at our word, cleanses our heart and moves in. We allow Him to reign supreme with all of our heart. As humans do, though, we get distracted by things of the world, and add them to our possessions and a little bit of our heart houses them. If we are not careful, we will start to desire possessions more than we desire God and our heart gets cramped.

Every house needs decluttering at some point, and our heart is no different. We, often unknowingly, store away things we don’t really need. Worldly attitudes, lowered values, and prideful ways can all move in to our heart. The way to declutter is just a prayer away. Jesus makes it so easy on us. We can talk to Him or the Holy Spirit at any time and He will hear us every time.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:26

Sometimes I think Jesus loves a sinners’ prayer the best. When we admit we need Jesus to overcome a sin, we don’t ask for a little bit of Him to last a day. We want Him to live in us and stay in us always because we know we are nothing without Him. This may all sound simple, but, salvation is simple. Sometimes it is good to see the simple to grasp an extraordinary truth. The Holy Spirit lives in our hearts!

Dear Father,

You know what’s in our heart before we even ask You to clean it. Thank you for giving us the Holy Spirit to abide with us. I want you to have my whole heart clean for You and not just a corner. If You see areas that need to be cleaned, nudge me that they are there. Help me to love you wide open and willing for all of my days. I love You! Amen

Journal Homework:

1.Draw a picture of a heart, yours, and write things in it that You value.

2. Draw another heart and put references of Bible verses that will help you keep your values in line with the Lord’s.
